Your body is characterised by a slim torso, bust and waist with larger hip, thighs and bottom. Your focus needs to be on creating balance.

The key strategy here is to draw attention upward.

Slim fitted tops, button down shirts and cardigans, embellished necklines, interesting collars, bright colour and print on your top half will achieve this. Of course eye-catching jewellery will have the same effect, and is a great way to enhance a plain top. Tops that are short with a contrasting band or detail around the bottom, help to shorten your long torso and make your legs look longer.

Wearing darker colours on your bottom half and lighter brighter tops, will make sure your best assets are getting the attention.

A line dresses, skirts and tops that skim your hips will help to hide them, and dark solid colours in your palette will also minimise this area.  If you want to hide your tummy just make sure your tops aren’t too long or you will make your legs look very short (this is particularly important if you are already short). Crop tops can look great as they accentuate your small waist.  Make sure your skirt then floats nicely over your hips.
